Rental Blackouts

The Blackout Manager lets you define periods when pickups, dropoffs, delivery, and collection are unavailable. You can apply a blackout to your whole tenant or scope it down to a single location, category, or listing.

Where to find it

Go to Settings > Blackout Manager.

Overview

The top of the page shows four counts that update in real time:

StatMeaning
Enforced nowBlackouts that are currently active and blocking bookings today
ScheduledBlackouts set for a future date range
InactiveBlackouts that have been turned off (toggled inactive) but not deleted
TotalAll blackouts on the account, regardless of status

Filtering and searching

Use the tabs (All, Enforced now, Scheduled, Inactive) to filter the list by status. The search box filters by reason or target, and the "All scopes" dropdown narrows results to a specific scope (tenant wide, location, category, or listing).

The blackout table

Each row in the table shows:

  • Scope: whether the blackout applies tenant wide or to a narrower target
  • Target: the specific location(s), category, or listing(s) affected. Tenant wide blackouts show "All locations & listings"
  • Window: the date range the blackout covers. A single day shows the same start and end date
  • Reason: a short internal label describing why the blackout exists (for example "Closed for the season" or "July 4th")
  • Status: Scheduled, Enforced, Inactive, or Expired
  • Active: a toggle to turn the blackout on or off without deleting it

Rows can be reordered or expanded using the icon on the right of each row for additional actions.

Creating a new blackout

  1. Click New blackout in the top right corner of the page
  2. Choose the scope: tenant wide, or a specific location, category, or listing
  3. Set the date window the blackout should cover
  4. Enter a reason. This is for internal reference and helps your team understand why the dates are blocked
  5. Save. New blackouts default to Scheduled if the window is in the future, or Enforced if it includes today

Status definitions

StatusMeaning
EnforcedToday falls within the blackout window and the toggle is on. Bookings are currently blocked for the affected scope
ScheduledThe blackout window is in the future
InactiveThe toggle has been switched off. The blackout will not block bookings even if the date window is current
ExpiredThe blackout window has passed

Common use cases

  • Seasonal closures (for example, closing all locations from October through April)
  • Recurring closures, such as blocking every Wednesday in a given month by adding one blackout per date
  • Holiday closures like July 4th
  • Blocking a single listing or category for maintenance without affecting the rest of the tenant

Notes

All times shown in the table are in your local time zone.
